Raptors Bury Owlz with Huge Second and Sixth Innings

OREM - The league leading Ogden Raptors grabbed five runs in the second inning and four in the sixth en route to their 13-5 win over the Owlz.

Ogden scored two runs in the opening inning. Jeremy Arocho scored the first run from a Marcus Chiu single. Then, Dillon Paulson scored after Niko Hulsizer walked.

Orem narrowed the lead to one in the bottom of the first. D'Shawn Knowles hit a homerun to right field leaving the score at 2-1.

The Owlz got into a big deficit in the second inning when the Raptors rattled off five runs. Daniel Robinson scored the first run, then Paulson hit a double scoring Arocho and Matt Cogen. The final two runs came off a home run from James Outman. Outman's homer also scored Paulson.

Orem closed the gap a little bit in the bottom of the third thanks to back-to-back homers from Knowles and Kevin Maitan. Maitan's homer went to left center field bringing the deficit to five. Knowles' home run went to left field to put the score at 7-3 in favor of the Raptors.

The lead went to 9-3 when Ogden hit another homer in the top of the fifth. The homer from Ronny Brio also scored Outman.

The Raptors had another big inning in the sixth. Ogden rattled off four runs. Marco Hernandez, Chiu, Brito and Hulsizer all scored to take the lead to 13-3.

The Owlz got one more run in the bottom of the seventh when Jeremiah Jackson scored off of a wild pitch. Justin Jones scored in the bottom of the ninth to bring the final to 13-5.

Knowles hit two home runs in tonight's game. This was the first time that an Owlz player has hit two runs in a game all season long.

Orem will play Ogden again tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. at the Home of the Owlz.
