Raptors 905 Suffer Loss in Long Island

Raptors 905 (1-3), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors were defeated by the Long Island Nets (4-1) 119-129 Wednesday evening. Saben Lee led the 905 with 27 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and three steals while Kessler Edwards had a career-high 36 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and four blocks in the Nets' victory.

The Nets opened the ball game with momentum carried over from Monday's win, leading the opening quarter 36-26. The 905 quickly fought back in the second, outscoring Long Island 43-24 in the frame. The 905 closed out the second quarter with four back-to-back dunks at the hands of Lee and Dalano Banton (22 points, five rebounds), taking the 69-60 lead going into the break.

The two teams went back-and-forth throughout the third quarter, however the 905 were able to extend their lead to 11 going into the final frame. Edwards spearheaded the Nets comeback bid in the fourth quarter as they outscored the visitors 38-17, and completed the season sweep against the 905.

The 905 received complementary scoring from Reggie Perry who contributed 28 points, 10 rebounds, a steal, and two blocks. Brooklyn Nets' assignee Day'ron Sharpe paced the Nets with a 16-point, 18-rebound double-double.

The 905 return to Paramount Fine Foods Centre for back-to-back matchups against the Capital City Go-Go beginning Monday, tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm. The Nets travel to Westchester to take on the Knicks, Friday at 7:00 pm.
