Windy City Bulls Start The New Year Off With A Win Over Fort Wayne Mad Ants

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 128-116 Wednesday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Windy City guard Ethan Thompson led all scorers with 34 points on 11-for-17 shooting from the field and 5-for-7 shooting from the three.

After a slow start to the game, Windy City submitted a strong third quarter performance to take control of the game. The Bulls outscored the Mad Ants 43-22 in the third period, quickly erasing the five-point lead Fort Wayne held at halftime to take a 102-86 advantage entering the final 12 minutes.

Thompson and Chicago Bulls Two-Way guard Carlik Jones each scored 11 points in the third quarter to help grab the momentum for Windy City.

Jones finished with 26 points and six assists in the victory. Chicago Bulls Assignment center Marko Simonović scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Guard Javon Freeman-Liberty chipped in 14 points off the bench for the Bulls.

Indiana Pacers Assignment forward Isaiah Jackson led the Mad Ants with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Fort Wayne forward Deividas Sirvydis chipped in 19 points and eight rebounds.

With the win, Windy City improves to 1-2 in the regular season, while Fort Wayne falls to 1-2.

Next up, the Bulls travel back home to take on the Lakeland Magic on Saturday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 7 at NOW Arena. Both games are slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com.
