Colorado Rapids News Release
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, July 16, 2012) - The Colorado Rapids announced today that midfielder Pablo Mastroeni has been placed on the Disabled List and that midfielder Harrison Henao has been waived.
Mastroeni, the club's all-time leader in games played, started, and minutes, will miss at least six matches before being eligible to return from the Disabled List.
Henao had joined Colorado on April 11 and appeared in one MLS match, coming in as a 68th minute substitute in the Rapids' 3-2 win over Montreal on May 26. He also started the Rapids' 3-1 win over the Tampa bay Rowdies in the U.S. Open Cup on May 29. By waiving Henao, the Rapids gain an additional International Roster Spot.
"In talking to Pablo, we want to continue giving him time to make decisions about his next step," said Colorado Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. "We would also like to thank Harrison for his efforts with the team and wish him the best in the future."
The Rapids face Swansea City of the English Premier League in their next home match on July 24, after returning from a two-game road swing against Toronto FC and Real Salt Lake this week. Tickets to the International Friendly against Swansea City start at $22, and there is a special two-pack available to fans that includes a ticket to the Swansea match on July 24 and the September 5 regular season matchup against the Portland Timbers for just $40. For more information on the match, or to purchase tickets, please call 303-825-GOAL or visit www.ColoradoRapids.com.
