Rapids Acquire Anthony Wallace in Trade with FC Dallas

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, July 30, 2010) - The Colorado Rapids have acquired defender Anthony Wallace in a trade with FC Dallas, the club announced today.

In exchange, Colorado send their natural 4th round 2011 SuperDraft pick and a conditional 2012 SuperDraft selection to FC Dallas.

A four-year veteran, Wallace joins the Rapids having played his entire Major League Soccer career in Dallas since being acquired by the club in the 1st round, 9th overall pick, in the 2007 SuperDraft. Wallace has appeared in 15 games, with 11 starts, with Dallas playing in 842 minutes.

On an international level, Wallace played for the United States U-17 and U-18 teams and was a member of the U.S. U-20 squad that participated in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada. He was named to the roster for the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt, but had to miss the tournament due to injury.

The Rapids host Wallace's former club FC Dallas this Saturday, July 31 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park at 2 p.m. MT.
