The Kitchener Rangers hosted The London Knights at The Aud on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers were looking to finish their three-in-three weekend with a win.
Just 14 seconds into the game, London opened the scoring to get an early 1-0 lead. Both teams exchanged powerplay opportunities but neither were successful. With five minutes left in the period, London added another tally to make it 2-0. Kitchener looked to crack London's Brett Brochu in the 2nd.
London scored two minutes into the 2nd period, making it 3-0. London's Antonio Stranges would extend their lead to 4-0 on a breakaway. The Knights took a 4-0 lead into the intermission and we looked for a comeback in the 3rd period.
Navrin Mutter scored his first goal as a Kitchener Ranger to break the shutout, 4-1. Mike Petizian added a powerplay goal to cut London's lead in half. Just after, the Knights scored to make it 5-2. London would add another to extend their lead to 6-2.
London would take this contest a final score of 6-2. The Rangers will look to next weekend to bounce back.
