Kitchener, ON: David Clarkson scored twice and added an assist tonight leading the Rangers to a 5-2 win over the visiting Plymouth Whalers before a crowd of 5,802 at The Aud.
Matt Lashoff opened the scoring with his 3rd goal of the season at 7:09 while on the power play.
In the second period Dan Collins tied the game at 1-1 with his 19th, beating Rangers goalie Dan Turple. David Clarkson restored the Rangers lead with his team-leading 24th goal at 11:51. Craig Voakes added a shorthanded goal, his 16th at 17:42 to put the Rangers up 3-1 after forty minutes.
The Rangers put the game away in the third period getting goals from David Clarkson (25) and Mike Duco (20). The Whalers added a goal from Tom Sestito.
Dan Turple turned aside 24 shots to pick up the win improving his record to 13-14-3 on the season.
The Rangers next home game is Friday, February 11th vs the Owen Sound Attack. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at The Aud.
