A 1-1 tie at the end of the first period turned into a 5-4 lead for Kingston by the end of the second. Brian Lashoff knocked in Kingston's second power play goal of the game at the 8:08 mark. The Rangers Jason Akeson replied just over a minute later with a shot from the top of the crease to level scoring 2-2.
