Kennedy Returns To Line-Up
September 18, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Guelph Storm News Release
Storm captain Matt Kennedy has returned from his first NHL camp. While the two sides couldn't reach a contract agreement, Carolina holds the 20 year olds rights through the 2010-2011 season. Kennedy's status with the Storm was uncertain as he was one of only a handful of players invited by the Hurricanes to main camp following a standout performance at the Canes' rookie tournament in Traverse City.
Matt returns as the Storm captain for the upcoming season.
With Kennedy's return, Peter Holland remains the only Storm player still at an NHL camp. Drafted in the first round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by Anaheim, Holland remains on the Ducks training camp roster.
The puck drops on the Storm's 19th season tonight as they host the Saginaw Spirit. Game time is 7:30 pm. A few hundred tickets still remain for the contest and can be purchased by visiting or calling the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
