The IceDogs took a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period after Matt Piva deflected a blueline shot off the right post past Parker Van Buskirk.

In a wild scramble Thomas Middup beat Van Buskirk to put Niagara up 2-0 at the 6:08 mark of the second period.
