Rangers Beaten by Spirit 6-4

November 19, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kitchener Rangers News Release

The Rangers host the Saginaw Spirit at the Aud for the first time since January 3rd, 2020. The Blueshirts are home after a weekend on the road in Flint and Saginaw, where they prevailed in both games. Rangers fans brought canned goods and monetary donations for Stuff A Bus Night with Virgin Radio KW, which supported The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

The first period saw the Rangers score three goals, the first coming from defenseman Arber Xhekaj from the blueline.

The second and third goals were both from Mitchell Martin (the first assisted by Declan McDonnell and Francesco Pinelli, the second assisted by Matthew Sop and Carson Rehkopf).

The second period began in a similar way to the first - with the Reid Valade scoring for the Rangers (assisted by Mitchell Martin and Mike Petizian), but the Saginaw Spirit respond just 30 seconds after the goal (Roberto Mancini from Josh Bloom). Josh Bloom went on to score later on in the period (assisted by Camaryn Baber and Roberto Mancini), to leave the score at 4-2 Rangers at the end of the 2nd.

The third period was penalty-filled and goal-filled for The Saginaw Spirit. The Spirit score four unanswered goals, including an empty netter to secure their win over the Rangers.
