Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack have trade overage goalie Mack Guzda to the Barrie Colts in exchange for the Colts 3rd round draft pick in 2023, and 5th round draft pick in 2022.

Guzda, drafted in the 2nd round of the 2017 OHL Priority Draft, was taken 31st overall by the Attack. Guzda would make the roster as a 16-year old and appeared in 30 games, going 14-6-2-2. Guzda's best season came during the 2019-20 season, when he appeared in 51 games. The young net minder would have a record of 24-20-4-3, while posting a 3.18 goals against average and a .900 save percentage. Throughout his time in Owen Sound, Guzda appeared in 140 games posting a 63-49-10-7 record, with a 3.34 goals against average and a .890 save percentage. Guzda's 63 wins as a member of the Attack, have him sitting in fourth all-time in franchise history, behind Curtis Stanford, Michael McNiven and Jordan Binnington.

The Attack organization wishes Guzda all the best as he continues his career in Barrie.

Early in the week the Attack had also acquired 19-year old forward William Portokalis from the Mississauga Steelheads, in exchange for Owen Sound's 12th round selection in 2024. Portokalis was a high scoring offensive threat in minor midget, and hopes that a change of scenery will help him find that scoring touch again.
