Oshawa Generals News Release

The Oshawa Generals open a four-game homestand at Tribute Communities Centre as they host the North Bay Battalion.

Tonight is the second of four meetings between these two teams, as Oshawa won the first matchup back on October 28th by a score of 3-2. Ryan Stepien recorded three points in that game, and Calum Ritchie scored with 43 seconds remaining to give the Generals the win.

North Bay enters this game not having given up a goal in their past two games. Goaltender Joe Vrbetic has gone 164 minutes without giving up a goal; however, he is expected to get the night off tonight as Dom DiVincentiis is the projected starter tonight. He has a .886 save percentage and a 3.54 goals-against average on the season.

Generals forward Ryan Stepien is coming off a career night last Sunday after recording a goal and three assists for four points. On the season, Stepien leads the team in goals with 11 and is tied with Calum Ritchie for second on the team with 17 points, trailing captain Ty Tullio with 24 points on the season.

Oshawa went 1-2 last weekend, moving their record to 7-5-1-2 on the season. They will look to begin their climb up the East Division standings tonight, with puck drop scheduled for 7:35 pm.
