Rangers Battle to Bitter End

The Kitchener Rangers again showed fans that it is worth it to stay till the end of the game as Chris MacKinnon and Tyler Randell each scored with seconds left on the clock to tie the score 4-4 and push the game into overtime.

Kaspars Daugavins netted the game-winning overtime goal with just 17 seconds left in the period to edge the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 5-4 over the Kitchener Rangers.

Mississauga's Kale Kerbashian beat Rangers netminder Parker Van Buskirk at the 5:39 mark of the first period to open up the scoring in the game 1-0 Majors. Jeff Skinner answered back to tie the game 1-1 with his 18th of the season.

Mississauga netted three unanswered goals in the second period to put them up 4-1 after 40-minutes of play. Jordan Mayer scored the first of the three goals at the 2:34 mark. Riley Brace gave the Majors a 3-1 advantage after netting a power play goal, and Casey Cizikas scored the third goal of the period at the 16:17 mark.

The Rangers came back to score three goals in the third period to tie the score 4-4 and push the game into overtime. Skinner scored his second of the game at the 3:56 mark -- this is his eighth goal in his last four outings. Chris MacKinnon scored at the 19:34 mark and Tyler Randell netted the equalizer with just 18 seconds left on the clock.
