Long Island jumped on the scoreboard in the opening inning thanks to a Lee Cruz two-run homer, his second in as many nights, off Patriots starter Doug Arguello. Somerset answered with a run in the bottom of the frame on Corey Smith's RBI single off Ducks starter Randy Keisler.

Two more runs came across for the Flock in the second on a two-run double to left-center by Kraig Binick. A RBI double down the left field line for Brandon Pinckney in the sixth rounded out the scoring.

Keisler (5-3) picked up the win, tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing just five hits while striking out five. Arguello (6-8) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on seven hits and five walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.

Pinckney's three hits led the Flock, while Mitch Canham added two.
