Rampage Prevent Shutout but Fall to Iowa 6-1

DES MOINES (November 13, 2008) - Rampage forward Enver Lisin scored his second goal of the season at 11:41 of the third but it wasn't enough as Iowa took a 6-1 decision Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

Iowa got on the board in the first when center Eric Boguniecki scored against Rampage goalie Josh Tordjman at the 10:57 mark to give the Chops a 1-0 lead. After a physical first period, Iowa broke the game open with 3 goals in the span of 2:28 in the second period. Chops leading scorer Bobby Ryan punched in a power-play goal 4:34 into the second period to make it 2-0. Two minutes later, forward Josh Green netted another power-play goal to extend the lead to 3-0. Center Ajay Baines capped the 3-0 run twenty-eight seconds later and Iowa led 4-0 going into the third.

Iowa forward Troy Bodie added another goal at 7:12 in the third before Lisin's goal prevented the shutout. Ryan closed the scoring adding to his team leading point total with his second goal of the night with 5:28 remaining in the game.

San Antonio tied their franchise high winless streak of 8 games and continued their drought on the power-play going 0-6. The Rampage are goaless in their last 42 man -dvantage opportunities.

The Rampage continue their three game road trip Saturday in Peoria. Last season, San Antonio took the season series 6-1-0-1.

Chops goalie Jean-Philippe Levasseur stopped 24 of 25 to get the win. San Antonio outshot Iowa 25-21 but allowed two power-play goals in six opportunitites.
