Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

GRAND RAPIDS - The Grand Rapids Rampage today announced that Scott Woodruff will assume the role of General Manager. The former general manager of business operations will now oversee all aspects of West Michigan's Arena Football League team, including business and football operations.

Woodruff is currently in his 11th season in the AFL and eighth with the Rampage. After beginning his Arena Football career with the Portland Forest Dragons in 1997, he served in various capacities with Grand Rapids from 1998-2004. Woodruff returned to Grand Rapids in 2006 after a brief stint with the Chicago Rush.

"Scott has done so much for Arena Football in Grand Rapids," said Scott Gorsline, chief operating officer of the Rampage and DP Fox Sports and Entertainment. "He's done a great job on the business side, and we expect him to continue to grow with an added focus on the football operations side as well. This is a natural progression both for Scott and the Rampage as a whole."

As General Manager, Woodruff will bring an organizational structure that most AFL teams currently employ. The position is designed to enhance the Rampage's focus on football operations while rewarding Woodruff's successful years of service in Grand Rapids' front office.

"As the league has evolved and become hypercompetitive, teams and their front offices must adapt," said Woodruff. "I am proud to take on this new role as we move into our next 10 years."

A native of Newport Beach, Calif., Woodruff received his bachelor's degree from Minnesota State University Mankato and his master's degree in business administration from Washington State University. He and his wife, Sarah, reside in Ada, Mich., with their daughter, Claire, and son, Eric.
