Rampage Fall to Condors 7-1

SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 3, 2016) - The San Antonio Rampage (3-6-0-0) suffered their first road loss of the season to the Bakersfield Condors (3-3-0-0), 7-1 in Rabobank Arena on Wednesday night. Rampage forward J.T. Compher notched the only goal for San Antonio in the third period, assisted by A.J. Greer, whose point streak continues after his sixth assist in as many games.

The late goal from Compher, with 11:16 left in the game, was the first power-play goal of his professional career and sixth for the Rampage this season. The Northbrook, Ill. native currently leads the team in goals, recording four in the last nine games. Greer's hand on the play led to his sixth assist in the last six games played and seventh this season. His six-game point streak is just one away from tying the franchise record.

Bakersfield took an early lead with two goals from Braden Christoffer and Josh Currie at the 11:28 and 15:19 marks, respectively. Despite the Rampage outshooting their opponents 14-to-9, the Condors tacked on another pair of goals, from Ryan Hamilton and Taylor Beck, with 14:19 and :40 remaining in the second stanza.

The Rampage pulled goaltender Spencer Martin and gave Nathan Lieuwen his first shot in the cage for San Antonio this season heading into the third period. The momentum continued for Bakersfield, however, with Beck collecting his second goal of the evening just 0:43 into the third period, followed by unassisted goals from Kris Newbury and Joey Benik at 1:58 and 6:30. Compher's late addition prevented a shutout for the Rampage, who outshot their opponents 37-to-27 on the night.
