Rampage Extend Point Streak to Six Games in 3-2 OT Loss to Texas

CEDAR PARK, Texas (December 27, 2011) - The San Antonio Rampage extended their regulation unbeaten streak to 4-0-2-0 as they fell to the Texas Stars by a score of 3-2 in overtime at Cedar Park Center on Tuesday night.

Rampage left wing Eric Selleck scored the game's first goal 14:39 into the opening frame. He took a pass from center Wacey Rabbit in the slot and ripped a shot past the blocker of Stars goalie Tyler Beskorowany to give San Antonio a 1-0 edge. Forward Scott Timmins also assisted on Selleck's second marker of the season.

The Stars answered with a goal of their own just over four minutes later. Texas rookie forward Matt Fraser potted his 15th tally of the season on the rebound of a Brad Lukowich shot from the point that was deflected by right wing Colton Sceviour. Fraser corralled the loose puck in front of Rampage backstop Dov Grumet-Morris and fired it into the net to tie the game at 1-1.

Center James Wright scored his first goal as a member of the Rampage 8:21 into the second frame and handed San Antonio a 2-1 lead in the process. After taking a pass from defenseman Nolan Yonkman, Wright skated down the left side boards and fired a shot on net that found its way through the legs of Beskorowany. Defenseman Michael Caruso picked up his second point in two nights with the additional helper on the play.

Fraser registered his second goal of the game at the 9:14 mark of the third period to knot the game at 2-2. Fraser entered the San Antonio zone on a two-on-one rush with center Travis Morin, who fed Fraser to his right. The Texas rookie blasted a one-timer past Grumet-Morris for the score. The secondary assist went to left wing Francis Wathier, who tallied his fifth point of the season against San Antonio.

The game was decided 2:40 into overtime when Sceviour carried the puck around the San Antonio net and tucked it inside the left post to give Texas the victory. Left wing Mike Hedden and defenseman Dan Spang notched the helpers on the game-winning marker.

Beskorowany made 24 saves on 26 Rampage shots for his sixth win of the season. Grumet-Morris turned aside 31 of 34 Stars attempts in the San Antonio loss.

The Rampage (14-14-2-0) return home on Friday to play the Houston Aeros at 7 p.m. (CST) at the AT&T Center for their third Lone Star Faceoff matchup of the week. The game will be broadcasted on Fox Sports Southwest.
