Rallo, Hulak and Faksa Lead Stars to 6-1 Win

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - For the second straight night for forward line of Greg Rallo, Derek Hulak and Radek Faksa was the story as they led the Texas Stars offense to a 6-1 road win over the rival San Antonio Rampage on Sunday in front of 4,211 fans at AT&T Center.
Rallo (two goals, one assist), Faksa (one goal, two assists) and Hulak (one goal, one assist) combined for eight points in the Texas win and have 17 points over the past two games. Travis Morin recorded the 400th point of his AHL career. Maxime Lagace stopped 30 of 31 shots in net for his eighth win of the season, and the Stars (23-16-3-3) picked up their sixth win of the season over the Rampage (18-19-1-0) in 10 meetings.
The Stars host the San Jose Barracuda on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. CST at Cedar Park Center with a chance to take over second place in the AHL's Pacific Division.
Hulak opened up the scoring with his 10th of the season at 3:32 of the first on a scrum in front of the net off assists from Oleksiak and Faksa. Curtis McKenzie then made it a 2-0 lead on the doorstep for the Stars at 11:18 off a touch-passing sequence from Brendan Ranford and Morin.
Texas extended the lead to 4-0 with a pair of second period goals from Rallo. The veteran forward scored his first of the night at 4:39 and his second at 7:24 on the power play. Both goals came from the left circle to give him 18 on the season, and his 11 power play goals are now tied for the AHL lead.
Faksa snapped home his 13th of the season at 7:05 of the third from Hulak and Rallo. Sam Henley slipped San Antonio's only goal past Lagace midway through the period before Morin added the final goal of the game on another touch-passing counterattack with McKenzie and Ranford.
The goal was Morin's 400th career AHL point and his 12th of the season.
Spencer Martin started the game in net for the Rampage but was pulled midway through the second after stopping 15 of 18 shots. Roman Will finished the night with 13 saves.
The Stars went 1-for-5 on the power play. San Antonio finished 0-for-2. Texas has won six of its last nine games.
