Tacoma Rainiers News Release

Tacoma, Wash. – The Tacoma Rainiers will have an explosion of fun and entertainment at Cheney Stadium during the 2004 baseball season, and few events will match the excitement and electric atmosphere that will accompany the appearance of the world famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Saturday July 10. Scheduled events include a pre-game performance, between innings skits, and an autograph session.

This magical night will mark the only Northwest performance by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders this year and will offer fans the first opportunity to enjoy their show in many years.

"Fans will notice a huge difference in the quality of entertainment and the level of fun at Cheney Stadium this season. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders perform in front of sellout crowds wherever they go," stated Rainiers general manager Dave Lewis. "This will be one of many memorable events this season."

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders began with an idea during the 1972 Dallas Cowboys season from general manager Tex Schramm. With the move of the athletic world into sports entertainment, the Dallas Cowboys expanded on the traditional sideline cheerleaders by blending choreographed dance routines with jazz dancing and brought beauty to the football field for the first time. The phenomenon of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders has skyrocketed ever since. The team has performed on numerous television shows, parades, and promotional appearances. Almost every phase of the American woman is represented in the squad. There are teachers, secretaries, company executives, students, single and married women, some even have children. With all the differences in the squad, the common thread is that all of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders require a dedication to responsibility and a commitment to excellence.

So bring out the family and experience this internationally renowned entertainment act at Cheney Stadium. This night will prove to be yet another exciting, affordable, fun outing with your family and the Tacoma Rainiers.
