Rain Postpones Friday's Contest Between Jumbo Shrimp and Braves

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Rain postponed Friday's game between the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Mississippi Braves from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Both Sunday contests will be seven innings in length, with gates opening at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets to Friday's postgame game can be exchanged at the Jumbo Shrimp box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2019 regular season home game, subject to availability.

Friday's winning raffle number of 1570733006 won a prize of $71.

Prior to Sunday's doubleheader, Jacksonville and Mississippi will engage in Saturday's regularly scheduled contest at 6:35 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for Red Caps Negro Leagues Night presented by Florida Blue. Former Negro League player James Sanders will be recognized before the game and also greet fans on the concourse. Fans can learn more about local and national Negro League baseball history on the video board throughout the evening. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will also receive a replica Jax Red Caps jersey courtesy of Florida Blue. Fans are also encouraged to stick around after the game for a postgame jersey toss with more Red Caps jerseys, courtesy of Florida Blue.
