Sioux City Explorers News Release
GARY, Indiana - The Sioux City Explorers and Gary SouthShore Railcats were set to play game two of their three-game series Saturday night at The Steel Yard, but a line of steady rains postponed those plans.
The teams will now play two seven-inning games as part of a doubleheader Sunday, August 6, with the first pitch at 1:05 p.m.
The Explorers won the series opener over the RailCats Friday night by a 3-2 margin behind a quality start from Solomon Bates. Sioux City is expected to send out two lefties in Jared Wetherbee (2-1, 3.34) in game one and Austin Drury (2-4, 4.57) in game two.
Following the series at Gary, the Explorers continue their road trip to Fargo-Moorhead. The club will be off Monday August 7 then play the RedHawks in a three-game series August 8-10.
Tickets for the season can be purchased online at xsbaseball.com, in person at the Lewis and Clark Park Box Office or by calling 712-277-WINS. You can catch all the X's action on aabaseball.tv and on radio at KSCJ 94.9 FM and 1360 AM.
