Cleburne - Home runs from CF Hill Alexander, RF Brian O'Grady, and player of the game 1B Thomas Dillard surged the Cleburne Railroaders past the Winnipeg Goldeyes in a 6-4 victory on Fireworks Friday at La Moderna Field.
O'Grady homered in his second consecutive game while Dillard put up his first dinger of the season in the 1st inning with a 2-run shot to give Cleburne the early 2-0 lead. The Railroaders carried a lead for the remainder of the game.
Another strong showing from Cleburne's bullpen as an early exit from starting RHP Johnathon Tripp due to injury brought RHP Theo McDowell out at the top of the 2nd inning. McDowell pitched three innings, allowed zero hits, zero runs, two walks, and struck out seven.
LHP Seth Romero showcased his off-speed pitches in 2.1 IP, one hit, two runs, three walks, and three strikeouts earning him the win. RHP Mark Washington came out of the bullpen in the 8th inning and earned the save on a 3-strikeout performance.
Cleburne will look to make it three straight in their first homestand of the season on Saturday, May 10th. First pitch is set for 7:06 p.m.
