North Carolina FC News Release
Cary, NC (Friday, August 1, 2008) - The Carolina RailHawks lost to the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 on Friday night in an exciting high energy match that saw the RailHawks outshoot the Whitecaps 15-8. Santiago Fusilier and Martin Nuñez scored for the RailHawks while Charles Gbeke, Omar Jarun and Eduardo Sebrango scored for the Vancouver side. The match saw the return of RailHawks' Joey Worthen to the pitch after being sidelined with an injury for most of the season. The RailHawks also played with a one man advantage for the whole second half as Vancouver's Takashi Hirano was ejected in the 43rd minute after a studs up tackle on Chad Dombrowski but were not able to capitalize on the many scoring chances.
Next the Carolina RailHawks travel to Puerto Rico on Sunday August 3 to face the Islanders for the third time this season. The match can be seen on www.USLLive.com. The RailHawks return home to host the Montreal Impact on Friday August 8 at 7:30 PM.
