Baltimore, MD - The Carolina RailHawks (7-6-7, 28 pts.) lost their second road game of the season 2-1 to Crystal Palace (6-10-6, 22 pts.) in Baltimore, MD on Saturday night. Matt Watson tallied the lone goal for the RailHawks after goals by Yoshitake and Brooks gave Baltimore the lead.

The RailHawks started the match applying pressure early with a blast by Shipalane, on his first start, that barely went over the bar in the 5th minute. Daniel Paladini had a couple of opportunities off of free kicks in the 9th and 13th but was unable to find the back of the net. It was Crystal Palace, however, who would get on the board first. In the 21st minute forward Yoshitake received a ball from former RailHawk Santiago Fusilier and proceeded to slot the ball low past Eric Reed for the 1-0 lead. The first half ended with the RailHawks continuing to apply pressure trying to find the equalizer to no avail, sending the teams to the locker rooms with Crystal Palace leading 1-0.

Crystal Palace started the 2nd half strong and was able to add an insurance goal in the 49th minute when Pat Healey flicked a ball in the box to Gary Brooks who blasted it past Reed for the 2-0 lead. RailHawks coach Martin Rennie started making some strategic substitutions inserting Josh Gardner, Matt Watson and Cory Elenio into the game. The RailHawks continued to attack and it finally paid off in the 76th minute when Matt Watson was able to beat Baltimore goalkeeper Evan Bush with a nicely placed shot. The RailHawks continued on the attack for the rest of the game trying to earn the draw but an Elenio shot in the 86th, an Budnyy shot in the 90th and a Schulte header in stoppage time all went barely wide or above the cross bar fixing the result at 2-1 for Crystal Palace.

The RailHawks return home on Wednesday, August 18 at 7 p.m. to face Miami FC. It will be Taste of the Triangle night and fans will have a chance to sample food from the area's top restaurants.
