ROCHESTER, New York - The Montreal Impact (6-10-7) conceded a late second half goal to lose 2-1 to the new league leaders, the Rochester Rhinos (12-5-6), Saturday, at Marina Auto Stadium, in Rochester.

In the 36th minute, defender Frankie Sanfilippo opened the scoring for the Rhinos. After receiving on the line of the 18-yard box, Sanfilippo took a shot that hit the inside of the post to Matt Jordan's right, and then found the back of the goal.

Forward Eduardo Sebrango tied the match during stoppage time of the first half. Posted inside the six-yard box, Sebrango headed a cross from Leonardo Di Lorenzo coming from the left flank, beating goalkeeper Scott Vallow to his right.

The Rhinos then scored the winning-goal in the 84th minute. Left alone just inside the six-yard box, forward Isaac Kissi dove to deflect a Darren Spicer cross into an empty net.

"It was a tough loss," stated Sebrango. "We gave everything tonight, but it wasn't enough. We are disappointed with this loss, after tying it up and showing good things on the field, especially in the second half."

After the hour of play, the Impact put pressure on the Rhinos and had a few shots on goal, but was unable to break the deadlock.

"After an even first half, we played better than Rochester in the second half, but they cored," mentioned Impact head coach Marc Dos Santos. "It's too bad because we deserved a better result tonight."

Goalkeeper Matt Jordan faced 10 shots during the match and made a few key saves. In the 13th minute, Jordan stopped midfielder Tyler Rosenlund's from inside the six-yard box. He also punched away a Ryan Heins header, in the 81st minute.

Goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic (concussion), defenders Stephen deRoux (cheek) and Simon Gatti (groin), as well as forward Marco Terminesi (appendicitis) did not make the trip to Rochester because of injury.

This Impact will face its Rochester's rivals for the fourth and final time this year on August 27, in Montreal.

The Impact will play its next match Saturday August 21, in Baltimore, at 7pm. The Montreal squad will then play next at Saputo Stadium on August 27 against Rochester (Radio-Canada, radio-canada.ca/sports, CKAC Sports, THE TEAM 990).
