Minnesota United FC News Release
BLAINE, Minn. - In a game delayed nearly 30 minutes in the second half due to lightning, the Vancouver Whitecaps defeated the NSC Minnesota Stars 1-0 courtesy of Martin Nash's 15th minute goal. Nash took a back-pass from Cornelius Stewart and beat Stars goalkeeper Joe Warren from the top of the penalty area with a one-timer. The loss was the Stars' first in seven matches and finished a streak of five straight draws. The loss drops the Stars down to fifth place in the USL Conference of the USSF Division 2 Pro League. The Stars play the Portland Timbers next Saturday in a must-win match up that will go a long way toward determining their playoff future.
