North Carolina FC News Release
Portland, OR (Thursday, July 24, 2008) - The Carolina RailHawks and the Portland Timbers matchup at PGE Park in Portland on Thursday night ended in a scoreless stalemate as neither team was able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. The Carolina RailHawks saw the return of Mauricio Segovia to the lineup after being sidelined with a knee injury since the two teams met at WakeMed Soccer Park last June. The RailHawks were not able to take advantage of a red card given to Portland's Chris Brown late in the first half, for elbowing RailHawks defender David Stokes in the face, leaving the Timbers a man down for most of the second half. Stokes was shown a red card in the 78th minute bringing the team numbers level again. Both teams continued to search for a win until the end but were unable to finish their scoring chances.
The RailHawks continue their road trip in Vancouver on July 26 and the match can be seen on www.USLLive.com. The team returns home to host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday August 1 at WakeMed Soccer Park at 8:00 p.m. in the second of four nationally televised games. Tickets for this and all RailHawks events are available at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-KICK, at all Ticketmaster outlets or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
