'Caps claim late draw with Charleston
Vancouver Whitecaps men came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 home draw with USL First Division leaders Charleston Battery on Wednesday evening.
In a game where the Whitecaps struggled to be at their best for large parts of the midweek match, substitute Charles Gbeke scored his first competitive goal as a member of the Whitecaps. His late second-half header canceled out Randi Patterson's league-tying eighth goal of the season for the South Carolina visitors.
After struggling though the first half, the home side made the necessary changes after the break that brought about a third-straight 1-1 result at home in the league, as Vancouver took sole possession of third place, but remained six points behind top-of-the-table Charleston.

2008 Canadian Championship Review
Tuesday night saw the conclusion of the inaugural Nutrilite Canadian Championship, with Montreal Impact claiming the first-ever tournament title after a 1-1 draw at Toronto FC.
It is the seventh straight time that the Quebec-based club has won the Voyageurs Cup. Montreal won the trophy the first six times as the best Canadian club in the United Soccer Leagues First Division between 2002 and 2007. Before the start of the tournament, Canada's national soccer supporters' group - who are known as 'The Voyageurs' - donated the trophy to the Canadian Soccer Association for the purposes of becoming the new competition's championship silverware.
Of course, the Impact have earned more than a trophy by winning the competition, as John Limniatis' side will represent Canada in the inaugural CONCACAF Champions League competition later this summer. The Impact face a two-leg Preliminary Round tie with Nicaraguan champions Real Esteli, with Montreal hosting the Central Americans at Saputo Stadium on Wednesday, August 27. They will complete the tie in northern Nicaragua when Real Esteli host Montreal at the Estadio Independencia on Tuesday, September 2. The winner of the tie will then play in Group C against Mexican club Atlante, CD Olimpia of Honduras, and either Major League Soccer club New England Revolution or Joe Public FC from Trinidad & Tobago. Group stage matches will take place between mid-September and the end of October of this year.

Insider Blog - Women's Wrap
I don't know if enough has been made about the achievements of the Whitecaps women's team this season. As you are well aware, many of this country's best players have been missing from the team for the last two seasons, as they have been committed to the Women's World Cup of last year and the Summer Olympics this year. With that in mind, our focus for the women's team has been more about developing tomorrow's stars. Still, even with the shift in focus, we had numerous players off on national team commitments at various points this season. All in all, we saw a record 39 different players don the blue and white, so developing any kind of chemistry and continuity was a challenge for this squad.

Prospects Men end season on a high
Vancouver Whitecaps Prospects Men completed their Pacific Coast Soccer League season with an admirable and entertaining 5-4 victory over league leaders Victoria United at Simon Fraser University on Sunday afternoon.
After a convincing 7-1 home win over Okanagan Challenge the day before, Bart Choufour's young side were looking to get more points from their last Premier Division game of the season against the defending PCSL champions, and they were successful in handing the Vancouver Island outfit just their second defeat of the season.
Even though the Whitecaps started brightly by creating some chances, it was the visitors that scored first. Prospects goalkeeper Coady Nett made the initial save off a United breakaway, but the rebound was headed home by Victoria's Greg Fiddick for 1-0.
