
RailCats to Adjust Open Tryout Schedule

GARY, IN - The Gary SouthShore RailCats today announced a schedule time change to the Open Player Tryout Camp on Sunday, May 1st. The camp is set for 10:00 AM at U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, IN but there will be one players session for position players and pitchers rather than the two separate sessions previously announced. Registration for the tryout is still set for 9:30 AM and the one session is set to begin at 10:00 AM for all players regardless of position.
There is no need to pre-register before the day of the tryout and players must tryout at just one position. Players should wear proper baseball attire and must bring their own baseball equipment, including cleats, gloves, wooden bats and catcher's gear. All players 18 and older are eligible to register for the camp and there is a $50 registration fee for tryout participants
Upon arriving at U. S. Steel Yard, players should enter through the RailCats Entry Gate on Stadium Plaza - between Fourth and Fifth Avenue - and head to the field for registration.
2016 will mark the 15th season of RailCats Baseball in Northwest Indiana. Opening Day for the RailCats' on the South Shore is Friday, May 27th against the Joplin Blasters.
