
RailCats Activate Uriegas, Liles

Sioux Falls, SD - The Gary SouthShore RailCats activated left-hander Estevan Uriegas from the inactive list and infielder Nick Liles from the disabled list on Sunday morning. In a corresponding pair of moves, the RailCats placed Ryan Brockett on the disabled list and released Will Krout.
The RailCats acquired Liles on Monday July 15, to complete a previous trade with the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Liles is a veteran of the San Francisco Giants organization where he reached double-A Richmond last season. This season with Winnipeg, Liles appeared in 45 games and hit .280 playing mostly at second base.
Uriegas was placed on the disabled list on May 28 and transferred to the inactive list on June 15. For the season he has appeared in five games going 0-1, allowing one unearned run on two hits and six strikeouts.
The RailCats placed infielder Ryan Brockett on the disabled list and released right-hander Will Krout to make room on the roster.
Krout went 2-5 with a 5.87 ERA in 13 starts for the RailCats. In 79 and 2/3 innings, he allowed 112 hits, 14 walks and struck out 45 this season. Krout ranked 11th in ERA in the American Association in 2012 which he split between the rotation and bullpen; he recorded a 3.58 ERA in 30 appearances, 16 starts.
Ryan Brockett was acquired on July 17 from the Schaumburg Boomers and went 3-for-13 with one run scored in four appearances for the RailCats during the road trip.
The RailCats will begin a four-game series with the Sioux City Explorers on Monday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. at U. S. Steel Yard.
