Grand Prairie 5, St. Paul 3
Palmer Karr and Angel Flores each homered in a 5-3 win for Grand Prairie over St. Paul. Karr hit a two-run shot in the top of the first to expand the AirHogs' early lead to 3-0. The home run was Karr's first with Grand Prairie in eight games with the South Division club. Three innings later, Flores hit a solo shot for his fifth home run of the season.
Josh Strawn took the ball for Grand Prairie and pitched 7.2 strong innings. He surrendered three runs on nine hits to pick up the victory. He improved to 7-4 after Patrick Mincey closed out the ninth for his 13th save.
Gary SouthShore 9, Sioux Falls 1
The RailCats rallied behind a strong game by Mike Massaro. The right fielder led Gary SouthShore with a 4-for-5 afternoon that included a double and three RBI, as the RailCats beat Sioux Falls, 9-1.
Massaro's first big hit came in the third inning. His run-scoring double ignited a four-run RailCats rally, giving Gary SouthShore a 6-1 lead. The right fielder added a two-run single in the eighth to help put the game out of reach.
