LAST TIME OUT: Tanner Creel made 42 saves on 44 shots and the Rail Yard Dawgs offense erupted for three goals in the second as Roanoke came from behind and beat the Fayetteville Marksmen, 4-2, Saturday night at the Crown Coliseum. Cody Dion, Jeff Jones and Lane King each had a goal and an assist to pace the Dawgs offense.

TAKE A SEAT: The SPHL announced on Tuesday that Dawgs forward Eric Witzel has been suspended for one game following his boarding penalty on Saturday night in Fayetteville. Witzel will not play on Thursday and the Rail Yard Dawgs will only be allowed to dress 15 skaters instead of the usual 16.

IR SWAP: The Rail Yard Dawgs activated forward Jesse Schwartz off injured reserve on Monday but placed forward Maxime Guyon on IR as a counter move. Schwartz missed the last seven games after being placed on IR on October 22. Guyon has appeared in eight games and leads the Dawgs in points. He is also tied for fifth in the SPHL in scoring with 12 points on four goals and eight assists.

MORE TINKERING: Roanoke added a new player to its roster on Sunday when it acquired defenseman Alex Adams from the Knoxville Ice Bears for future considerations. Adams had appeared in one game with ECHL Maine and four with Knoxville before joining the Dawgs. He also played 15 games for the Ice Bears in the 2017-18 season and had four goals and six assists.

LEAKY D: The Marksmen average 3.5 goals per game, the third-best goal-scoring offense in the league, but have struggled in keeping the puck out of their net. Fayetteville surrenders four goals per game which is the worst goal-scoring defense in the league. In three games against the Marksmen, Roanoke has scored ten goals.

TURKEY DAY: For the second consecutive season, the Rail Yard Dawgs will host the Marksmen on Thanksgiving. A Thanksgiving home game was also a regular occurrence for the Roanoke Express, the ECHL team that played in Roanoke from 1993-2004.

POWERED UP: Roanoke went 2-for-4 on the power play in its 4-2 win over Fayetteville on Saturday, raising it's power play percentage to 25%, second best in the SPHL. The Dawgs power play trails only Huntsville, who leads the league at 25.6%

UP NEXT: The Dawgs hit the road for Alabama to take on the defending champion Huntsville Havoc on Friday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM CST at the Von Braun Center. Following Friday's game, both the Dawgs and Havoc will load up the bus and return to Roanoke to face off on Saturday night. Puck drop for Capitals Night at Berglund Center is set for 7:05 PM.
