Raiders Reduce Training Camp Numbers to 30

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - Three 15 year-olds, who are not eligible to play with the Prince Albert Raiders this season, were sent home from training camp over the weekend. Defencemen Harrison Ruopp (Zehner, SK.), Matt Waseylenko (St. Albert, AB) and Austin Frank (Calgary, AB) were sent home to join their respective Midget teams for the coming season.

The moves reduce the Raiders training camp roster to 30: 3 goaltenders, 8 defencemen and 19 forwards including one 15 year-old (Mark McNeill), four 16 year-olds, six 17 year-olds, eleven 18 year-olds, four 19 year-olds and four 20 year-olds.

After starting the exhibition campaign with a 6-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades at the Art Hauser Centre Sunday, the Raiders prepare to take part in the Ice Breaker Tournament this weekend in Saskatoon. They face off against the Lethbridge Hurricanes Saturday at 1:00 PM, then face the host Blades Sunday at 7:30 PM. Both games are at the Credit Union Centre and can be heard live on Today's Country 900 CKBI.

10th Annual Golf Tournament to Tee Off Tomorrow

30 teams are entered in the 10th Annual Raider Golf Classic with a shot gun tee off time of 1:00 PM tomorrow at Cooke Municipal. Each of the teams of golfers will have a Raider player added for the round.

The awards banquet will follow in the Ches Leach Lounge featuring a draw among all golfers for the special 10th anniversary prize of a golf get away package for four to Elk Ridge Resort valued at over $500. As well, Raider Alumni Chris Phillips has provided an Ottawa Senators jersey that will be raffled off.

All proceeds from the event go to the Raiders Education Fund.
