Regina Pats News Release
The Week In Review:
Tuesday August 26th
Pats Blue and White Game:
After a year away, Lumsden saw the annual Blue and White game return to the valley. Team White scored three times in the third period en route to the 4-2 win. It was Scott Doucet providing the most entertainment. He scored twice, picked up and an assist, then completed the Gordie Howe hat-trick in a first period fight with fellow 20 year-old Kirt Hill.
Saturday August 30th
Regina Pats 6 Medicine Hat Tigers 4 (Edmonton Oil Kings Tournament)
The Pats received contributions from both ends of the spectrum. 20 year-old defenceman Victor Bartley scored once, and collected 4 assists in a 5 point night, while Kyle Mulder may have made his way on to the team with a hat-trick performance.
Sunday August 31st
Regina Pats 5 Edmonton Oil Kings 4 (Edmonton Oil Kings Tournament)
It was a rough and tumble second game for the Pats against the tournament hosts, that culminated in a third period line brawl. Jordan Eberle stole the show in his first preseason action, scoring twice and adding an assist.
Monday September 1st
Regina Pats 4 Prince George Cougars 2 (Edmonton Oil Kings Tournament)
The successful sweep of the tournament concluded Labour Day Monday with three third period goals by Jeff Dort, Koltyn Miller, and Scott Doucet. Great goaltending was also front and centre, as Damien Ketlo and Derek Tendler combined to stop 29 of 31 Prince George shots.
The Pats were without Rudolf Cerveny, who is still in the Czech Republic for their World Junior Camp, while a pair of 20 year-olds in Josh Elder (knee) and Kirt Hill (broken thumb) also missed the tournament.
Let's Go Camping
As NHL camps begin to open, the Pats will see five players head off to their respective teams. Linden Rowat (L.A.), and Brett Leffler (Wash.) will be attending their second NHL camp. While a trio of 2008 NHL draft picks in Colten Teubert (L.A.), Jordan Eberle (Edm.) and Matt Delahey (N.J.) will be at their first training camp.
Season Ticket Holders
The ticket packages are here, and season ticket holders will get a chance to pick them up, and meet the 2008-09 Regina Pats Wednesday night from 4pm-8pm at the west end of the Brandt Centre. Bring the family along, there will be street hockey and you can also purchase a hot dog, and coke. If you haven't purchased your season tickets, call 522-PATS to reserve your seats.
