Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (20-23) bested the Rockford Rivets (19-23) 8-2 to earn their second sweep of the second half. Steven Rivas earned home run No. 10 on the season as the Rafters scored eight times on six hits.

The Rafters struck first for the second straight night. The cranberry and gold scored four times in the fourth. An RBI single from Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) started the barrage while Steven Rivas delivered his three-run home run a couple batters later. Another Rafter run scored in the fifth thanks to an RBI sac fly from Wold.

With a 5-0 lead in the sixth, Rockford scored their only runs of the game off a bases-loaded walk and a wild pitch. Wisconsin Rapids responded a half inning later with three runs thanks to a Brody Wofford (UCF) two-run double and Rivets error allowed Wofford to score later in the inning. The Rafters' pitching staff held the Rivets in check striking out 13 Rockford hitters.

Trayson Kubo (4-1, 1.45 ERA) earned his fourth win of the season by throwing five scoreless and fanning seven. Alex Bacevicius (0-1, 6.00 ERA) suffered the loss allowing four earned runs in four innings.

The Rafters conclude the three-game homestand tomorrow against the Green Bay Bullfrogs. First pitch is at 7:05 pm CT.
