Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO - October 6, 2014 - Orlando City Soccer Club announced today that Defender Rafael Ramos and Midfielder Estrela will join the U20 Portugal Men's National Team for a training camp in Figueira de Foz, Portugal. The training camp marks the first national team call-up for both City players, who will return to Orlando on October 13.
The camp will be comprised with Portugal's brightest U20 prospects, featuring talented players from notable Clubs such as SL Benfica, FC Porto, Montpellier and Sporting Clube de Portugal. More importantly, the camp will play a key role in the final roster decisions for the U20 FIFA World Cup being played in 2015.
Ramos and Estrela were the most recent players to sign with Orlando City for its inaugural Major League Soccer (MLS) season in 2015, signifying the first development in the partnership between City and SL Benfica.
Both Clubs agreed to a strategic partnership in June, yielding the opportunity to share evaluations regarding professional and youth players, arrange friendlies, and provide opportunities for each Clubs' players to train with the other team.
