Racing Gets Six Figures in Allocation Money from Salmon Trade

In exchange, Racing Louisville received $150,000 in 2022 allocation money and $25,000 in 2023 allocation money, with the potential for an additional $15,000 more this year should Salmon meet certain performance-based criteria with the Dash.

"We thank Ebony for all of her contributions here in Louisville and see this as an opportunity for her to get the minutes she's seeking," said Racing's head coach, Kim Björkegren. "At the same time, the allocation money received will in return allow us to pursue new player signings this year."

Salmon scored six goals across all competitions in 2021, Racing's inaugural season, and made nine appearances and two starts through the first four months of this year's campaign.

"I am excited for the next chapter, but I want to thank the Racing fans for all of their support over the past year," Salmon said. "When I arrived in Louisville, they welcomed me with open arms."

"This was obviously a difficult decision to make," Racing's president, James O'Connor, said of the trade. "Ebony is a young player with a bright future. We wish her the very best moving forward and appreciate the work she put in here."

The 21-year-old from England arrived in Louisville from Bristol City, where she led the club's attack over two seasons in her home country's FA Women's Super League.

Both Racing and Houston were off last weekend during the NWSL's international break, with Louisville returning to the pitch Sunday against the Orlando Pride as part of the first-ever Daytona Soccer Fest at Daytona International Speedway. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. with coverage on CBS Sports Network.
