
Quebec doubles up on North Shore

Shane Hopper's eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot to right center, helped Quebec end the first half on a winning note as they defeated North Shore, 4-2, in 11 innings in front of 4,289 fans.
North Shore jumped out to a 2-0 advantage on homer by Joe Hastings, his fifth, and a RBI-single by Robert Fischer. Les Capitales scratched out a run in the eighth when SS Yuri Sanchez misplayed Lee Delfino's groundball allowing Justin Wendt to score. Tyson Boston ended Ryan Bicondoa's consecutive save streak at nine when he singled in the ninth to tie the game at 2-2 for Les Capitales.
John Kelly went the first 7 2/3 innings for the Spirit and allowed one unearned run and struck out 12. Meanwhile, Keith Dunn tossed seven frames for Quebec and gave up two runs on nine hits.
