Eddie Lantiqua singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning to lift Quebec to a 2-1 victory over New Jersey at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls.
Trailing 1-0, Asdrubal Oropeza singled off Ben Grezlovski to lead off the sixth. Two batters later Osmani Garcia ripped a run-scoring double to tie the game at 1-1. After Carlos Rodriguez struck out, Lantiqua drove home Garcia with a single.
Brad Foss threw a scoreless sixth inning and Julien Tucker pitched a perfect seventh to record his first save of the season. Jason Cly (6-4) got the victory, allowing one run on six hits in five innings of work. Cly struck out three and walked one.
Grezlovski (5-4) took the loss, allowing two runs in 2 2/3 innings. Joel Bennett started for New Jersey, throwing three scoreless innings. But after a two-hour rain delay between the third and fourth innings, Bennett gave way to Grezlovski.
The Jackals took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Chris Rowan smashed the first pitch he saw from Jason Cly over the left field fence for his ninth home run of the year.
