Qualification Round Playoff Schedule Announced

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced the schedule for the Qualifying round of the 2003 Calder Cup Playoffs. The Pirates, who enter the playoffs as the eighth seed in the eastern Conference, will host the ninth seeded Manitoba Moose in the best-of-three series. Game one of the qualifying series will be played on Thursday, April 10 while game two is scheduled for Friday, April 11. Face-off for both games is 7:05 P.M. If a game three is necessary, it will be played on Sunday, April 13 at 6:05 P.M. All three games will be played at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

The Pirates finished the 2002-03 regular season in fourth place in the North Division with a record of 33-28-13-6. They split a closely contested season series with the Moose 1-1-2-0, including a 1-0-1-0 mark on home ice. Manitoba finished second in the Canadian Division with a record of 37-33-8-2.

Tickets for the first round of the playoffs go on sale to the public sale tomorrow at 12:00 Noon. The Civic Center box office is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and tickets may also be purchased by phone by calling the Civic Center at 775-3458. In addition, tickets may be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling Ticketmaster at 775-3331 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
