Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are back into town, still in first place (10-4) in the California League Southern Division, and ready for a seven game homestand that leads off with the incoming San Jose Giants, sitting atop the Northern Division with a sparkling 11-3 record, on the bus bound for The Epicenter. The baby-Giants come to town with four of the organization's top 30 prospects according to Baseball America in tow, including fourth-best prospect, SS Emmanuel Burriss, the Giants' second pick in the 2006 draft. The teams split a four-game series in San Jose last weekend.

The first game of the series is on for tonight at 7:05 PM. Tonight the team will be giving away souvenir travel mugs to the first 1,500 fans to pass through the gates, sponsored by Cucamonga Valley Water District.

Saturday's game is at 7:05 PM as well and will feature POST-GAME FIREWORKS! Saturday evening the Quakes also will pay tribute to Jackie Robinson, joining the baseball community that this past week celebrated the man who, sixty years ago this past week, broke baseball's color barrier.

Sunday's tilt with the Giants is at 2:05 PM and features a wristband giveaway sponsored by Yellow Book for the first 1,500 fans aged 12 and under to pass through the turnstiles. After the game, all kids 12 and under can RUN THE BASES!

Monday wraps up the series with the San Jose Giants and is "Monday Madness," which offers two club seats, two hot dogs, two sodas, and two bags of chips for just $14! Don't miss out on the best deal in town!

On Tuesday evening the High Desert Mavericks, the California League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, stop into town. The Mavs are comprised of many of the players who won the California League Championship last season with the Inland Empire 66ers and though they've gotten off to a rough start (4-10), they should provide good baseball competition for the Quakes as well. Tuesday evening's 7:05 start is "Throwback Tuesday," sponsored by KOLA. The Quakes will offer two-for-one club seats, and the team will wear special uniforms similar to those worn in the inaugural 1993 season. KOLA morning DJ's Patty Banner and Brian Casey will throw our ceremonial first pitches, and KOLA will be broadcasting live before the game outside the main gates.

Wednesday also begins at 7:05 - and it is a "Weenie Wednesday," sponsored by Hebrew National and KFRG 95.1. All Hebrew National hot dogs will be just one dollar! Your favorite KFRG Morning DJ's from the frogmen in the morning crew will be on hand to throw ceremonial first pitches. KFRG will also be broadcasting live before the game outside the main gate.

The Quakes cap the week-long homestand with the popular "Thirsty Thursday," sponsored by KCAL. 12 ounce draft beers and fountain sodas will be just one dollar until the end of the fifth inning. KCAL's DJ Darryl will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and KCAL will broadcast live outside the main gate before the game.

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are the Advanced-A California League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. You can purchase individual tickets and ticket packages by calling the box office at (909) 481-5252. Great seats remain for all 2007 home games!
