Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks were unable to complete a series sweep of Visalia Thursday night, dropping the final game 3-1. Oaks starter Hector Ambriz, a 2006 draft choice out of UCLA, hurled five no-hit innings to earn the victory. The JetHawks went 3-4 on their first road trip of the season and return home 8-6 overall, tied for second place in the Southern Division and two games behind the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

Both starting pitchers excelled, with Ambriz one-upping JetHawks starter Justin Masterson. In his longest outing of the season, Masterson pitched five strong innings, giving up just two runs on six hits to take the loss. Visalia got the two runs in the fifth inning to take a 2-0 lead.

The JetHawks did not get a hit until the sixth inning. Ryan Khoury opened the frame with a double to right field and ended up scoring the JetHawks only run on an RBI ground-out by Zach Daeges.

The JetHawks open a seven-game homestand Friday night against the Inland Empire 66ers. Mike Rozier (0-1, 11.42) pitches for the JetHawks, while the 66ers will send up James McDonald (0-1, 11.05). The game starts at 6:30 and will be broadcast on radio on Magic 1340 AM, as well as on the internet at www.JetHawks.com.

Lancaster will return home to Clear Channel Stadium Friday, April 20 against the Inland Empire 66ers. Season tickets and mini-plan packages, as well as individual game tickets, for another memorable season at Clear Channel Stadium are available now.
