Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Bakersfield, CA - A pair of three-run homers and a quality start from Garrett Gould helped the Quakes salvage a split of their four-game series in Bakersfield, as they notched a 7-3 victory over the Blaze on Sunday afternoon.
Gould earned his second win of the year, allowing three runs on five hits over a season-best seven innings of work.
O'Koyea Dickson and Jonathan Garcia provided all the offense the Quakes needed on Sunday, as each hit a three-run blast.
Dickson's shot, his eighth of the year, gave the Quakes a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Dickson finished the game with three RBIs and three runs scored.
The Blaze battled back though, using a two-run home run by Steve Selsky to get on the board in the fourth and eventually draw even in the fifth at 3-3.
Scott Schebler picked up an RBI groundout, which turned out to plate the winning run, as Dickson scored give the Quakes the lead in the sixth.
Garcia's shot, his team-leading 11th of the year, gave Rancho some cushion in the eighth against Blaze reliever Kyle Lotzkar, making it 7-3.
Raydel Sanchez and Joel Lima combined for two innings of scoreless relief to seal the deal on Sunday.
After a day off on Sunday in Bakersfield, Dodgers' rehabbing shortstop Hanley Ramirez is officially scheduled to join the Quakes and continue his rehab assignment on Monday at LoanMart Field, as the Quakes open a three-game home stand against Inland Empire.
