Quakes Fall to 66ers 6-3

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Inland Empire jumped out to a quick lead on Tuesday as Justin Fuller led off the game with a double and ended up scoring on a RBI fielder's choice hit by Andres Perez.

Rancho came back to tie the game in the 2nd as Clay Fuller came up with the bases loaded and no outs and delivered a sacrifice fly to right to make the score 1-1.

The 66ers then plated two runs in the 3rd against starter Jeremy Thorne on a RBI fielder's choice by Andres Perez and a two-out RBI double by Jaime Ortiz to give Inland Empire a 3-1 edge.

The Quakes would score a run in the 3rd as they loaded the bases again with nobody out, and scored on a RBI ground out by Efren Navarro to trail by just a run 3-2.

Rancho would tie the game in the 4th with two outs as Andrew Romine singled and scored on a RBI double by Carlos Colmenares to even the score 3-3.

Inland Empire would regain the lead in the 5th as Andres Perez blasted a solo home run over the batter's eye in center field to lead 4-3.

The 66ers added another run in the 6th against Thorne on four consecutive singles and the RBI hit coming from Justin Fuller to lead 5-3 and knock Thorne from the game. Jeremy Haynes came in and retired Scott Van Slyke to end the inning with runners in scoring position.

Rancho had a chance to score runs in the 7th, but left the bases loaded on a pinch hit line out to first by Abel Nieves.

66ers catcher Alex Garabedian blasted a solo home run in the 8th inning off of Haynes to swell the lead to 6-3.

The Quakes struggled with runners on base stranding a season high 14 on base and went just 1 for 14 with runners in scoring position.

The Quakes will finish their three game series against Inland Empire Wednesday. Right hander Mike Kenney will be on the mound for the Quakes against right hander Tim Sexton for the 66ers. Game time is scheduled for 7:05pm.
