June 5, 2007, (Davenport, IA) - The arenafootball2 league announced today that WR/LB Jack Walker Jr., has been named the af2 U.S. Army Ironman of the Week for his performance in the Steamwheelers 45-22 victory over Tennessee Valley Vipers. This is the second Army Ironman of the Week award in three weeks that Walker has earned this season.
Walker Jr., finished the game with four catches for 33 yards and two touchdowns on offense. On defense the Toledo, Ohio native registered two tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups and a forced fumble.
The Quad City Steamwheelers return to The MARK on Friday, June 22 for a contest against currently unbeaten Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Tickets start as low as $10 for adults and $5 for children and are on sale now at The MARK box office, Ticket Master outlets and on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
