QMJHL Suspends Activities Until January 3rd
November 30, 2020 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Cape Breton Eagles News Release
BOUCHERVILLE, QC - The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today announced that the League is pausing its activities from December 1st, 2020 to January 3rd, 2021. The decision was communicated to League Members and General Managers during a meeting held earlier today.
"The current situation with the pandemic in the regions in which we operate makes it extremely difficult to play games," shared Commissioner Gilles Courteau. "With the Holidays just around the corner, the Provinces in the Maritimes have restricted access and travel while in Quebec, red zone restrictions do not permit us to play."
Among the suspended QMJHL activities are nine scheduled Cape Breton Eagles games, included three home games- December 11th vs. Charlottetown, December 13th vs. Saint John, and December 16th vs. Halifax. Ticket holders are advised to keep their tickets and they will be honoured when the games are made up at a future date to be determined. Fans are encouraged to check capebretoneagles.com and Cape Breton Eagles social media for further scheduling updates and all news regarding the team, and to have a safe and happy holiday season.
