Austin FC News Release
Austin, TEXAS - In partnership with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM), Austin FC announced on Wednesday that the Mexican Men's National Team will play its first-ever match in Austin on December 8. The sixth and final match of the 2021 MexTour will see Mexico take on two-time Copa America champions Chile at Q2 Stadium.
Q2 Stadium has hosted three (3) international fixtures to date, all of which were sell-outs. The United States Women's National Team earned a 2-0 friendly victory over Nigeria on June 16, and the United States Men's National Team picked up a pair of wins: first versus Qatar in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Semifinal on July 29 and most recently over Jamaica in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying on October 7. The match will mark the first time in the 19-year history of the MexTour that the Mexican Men's National Team will visit Austin.
Tickets for the match will go on sale to the public on Thursday, November 4 at 10am CDT on SeatGeek.com. Austin FC Season Ticket Members and Waitlist Members will receive information about pre-sale opportunities via e-mail. MexTour fans can book their hotel accommodations to the match through the official MexTour hotel link.
