Providence Bruins Receive Jamie Arniel from Boston Bruins

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, entering their 19th season in the American Hockey League, today announced that the Boston Bruins have assigned forward Jamie Arniel to Providence.

Arniel, 21, spent his entire rookie season with Providence in 2009-10, earning the team's Rookie of the Year award after finishing eighth on the P-Bruins with 28 points, including 12 goals and 16 assists in 67 games. The center registered seven multiple-point contests and also tied a franchise record by scoring goals in six straight games from November 14-25.

The parent Bruins also released Ryan Spooner from camp. He has been returned to his junior club, the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League.

Providence's 2010-11 training camp roster is presently comprised of 27 players, including 12 forwards, 12 defensemen and three goaltenders.

Training camp began this morning and runs through Thursday, October 7, with all sessions to be held at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Please note that training camp is not open to the public.

Providence opens the regular season at The Dunk on Friday, October 8 at 7:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons.
